Trends: New Memory Research and USB Mania

In this trendwatching podcast, Nora Young talks about new research into a drug that might remove memories. (via New York Times).  Cathi Bond has also found new research from The University of Texas into a drug that may retain the memory but remove the traumatic intensity of it. (Via EurekAlert).  This reminds Nora of research into the drug Propranolol.  

Cathi also talks about ViBook, which allows you to attach up to 6 monitors to your computer. It’s part of her USB mania.

Trends: Health 2.0 and Learning From Geckos

Meanwhile, in pressing gecko news, Nora Young talks about new research into how geckos are able to stick so well to walls, and then release.  Researchers think they’ve found a way to mimic it. Great example of biomimetic design, and also of the potential for adhesives that you can remove and replace. Nora’s very excited….Cathi, not so much! (via Technology Review)
